The State of The WWE Intercontinental Championship!!

The Intercontinental Championship, A title that main stream a secondard headliner to the WWE championship. Alot of Famous wrestlers wore this title, and became legendary champions. Pat Paterson was the first wrestler to win the intercontinnental championship in late 1970's. Pedro Morales was the second wrestler to win the title, but the first latino intercontinental champion, and later became the first WWE latino heavyweight champion in the 1980's. The Magnificent Muraco was the third to win the IC title. later the magnificent muraco got a taste about what it's like to be a champion as he had a legendary moment in madison square garden against WWE Hall of famer Superfly Jimmy Snuka in a steel cage in 1982. Greg valentine & Tito Santana would go back and forth as Intercontinental champions in the mid 1980's and became legendary icons for the IC title. In 1986 The IC title would become OOOOOOOOO YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAA!!! Macho....... yup Randy Savage became intercontinental champion by defeating Tito Santana in the Boston Garden. But by the mid 1986, The IC title would Steal The Show in front of 93,753 fans in the silverdome in detriot michigan at Wrestlemania III, Beating Hulk vs. Andre!!!

Ricky the dragon Steamboat Defeated Macho man randy savage in a Epic Battle of The Year... Later Ricky Steamboat couldn't live up to being the IC champion because of Personnal problems, so The IC title would soon be heading to a Elvis in Personator in the form of the honky tonk man. honky would claim that he was the greatest intercontinental champion of all time, holding the title for almost Two Years. In the summer of 1988 The IC title would become The Ultimate Championship, as The Ultimate Warrior would destroy The greatest intercontinental champion in 10 seconds egniting the fans and blowing the roof off Madison Square garden. At Wrestlemania V The Ultimate Warrior would expereince why Rick Rude was Simply ravishing and lose the IC title. but in the summer of '89 The warrior would reclaim the ic title from Ravising Rick Rude.

In early 1990 The intercontinental title would go to Kurt Henning then to Kerry Von erich, then to kurt once again. In the Summer of 1991, the ic title would become Excillent!! Bret hart would become the IC champion by defeating Kurt Henning at Summerslam. The IC title over the years has been the standard Bearer to the WWE title. Very few IC champions would become WWE champion, but only two have done it. Now The IC title has become the Laughing stock of the WWE!!!

The title isn't being defended, and Nobody Care's!! the title went from a world wide Phenomenon to Utter right Garbage... if there was one title in the WWE, that i miss it is The intercontinental championship. JMO.... Other WWE championships would suffer the same fate, not being defended because of very little wrestlers or very short tag teams. Give me a Break!!!! any ways if history proves that if there was a title that meant alot to the WWE it was the intercontinental championship, not the garbage titles that some people wear and claim to be the best like Kofi kingston, great talent but not a great IC champion.

in closing the intercontinental championship was and still is the best title in the WWE, but what is having the IC title if there's no great wrestlers to wear it....
